Haridwar India is a city in the north state of Uttarakhand famous for many temples as well as Hari ki Pauri. Literally meaning Gateway to God, it is one of the Hindu holy places in the country and has also been a center of the religion and mysticism for many years. Haridwar Tourism is located nicely on the banks of River Ganges and attracts Hindu pilgrims from all over the world in large numbers. It is also site of many religious festivals among which humanity's largest festival called the Kumbh Mela is hosted once every twelve years which draws more than 75 million devotees every year! The last Hardwar Maha Kumbh Mela was in 2010 and the next Ardh Mela is going to be hosted in 2016. Other main festivals include Baisakhi in the month of April, Kanwar Mela in July drawing around 300,000 visitors, Somwati Amavasya in July, Kartik Purnima which is held after 15 days of the world famous festival of Diwali in November, on the first night of the full moon. One has to book rooms as well as tickets very well in advance to avoid getting struck in the huge in flow of tourists and devotees.

Haridwar tourism is about 200 km from the capital city of India, New Delhi and is well connected by road as well as rail from all major cities of India. There are many Delhi to Haridwar Volvo buses and the Volvo bus service from Delhi to Hardwar is excellent and very frequent. One can also take a Delhi to Haridwar Train and reach comfortably.

The nearest Jolly Grant Airport, located around 25 km from Dehradun has twice daily service to Delhi on Kingfisher and other airlines. Haridwar Junction Railway Station is well-connected by train and has numerous trains from Delhi to Hardwar trains which take up to five hours. Hardwar’s bus station is very near from the train station and has regular bus services from Delhi, Rishikesh, and other major cities and towns of North India to the city. Har ki Pauri Haridwar is city’s main point where devotees gather to take a dip and worship on the Ganges. Every evening, thousands of devotees gather to worship the river Goddess. Maya Devi Mandir is one of the 51 "shakti peeths" and is the head deity of the city. Mansa Devi Mandir is atop a hill and is reachable by cable car. Bharat Mata Mandir is dedicated to Mother India and Divya Yog Mandir Trust University, founded by yoga expert Baba Ramdev, is a must to visit on Haridwar Tour as the Haridwar Weather makes it always nice to visit.
